Ready for the Fort Worth Stock Show

What: The 113th annual Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show

When: Friday through Feb. 8

Where: Will Rogers Memorial Center, off Lancaster Avenue between Montgomery Street and
University Drive in Fort Worth's Cultural District

Events: The stock show features more than 22,000 head of livestock from across the country competing for blue ribbons and thousands of dollars. The Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo will run 30 performances from Jan. 23 through Feb. 8.

•The All Western Parade will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in downtown Fort Worth.

•The "Best of the West" Ranch Rodeo will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $22.

•The "Best of Mexico Celebración" will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $16.

•"Bulls' Night Out" will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets are $22.

Admission: Rodeo tickets are $16 Monday through Thursday nights and Monday through Friday matinees; $22 for Friday night and weekend performances. For tickets, call 817-877-2420. Rodeo ticket prices include admission to the grounds, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. General admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 16. Children 5 and younger are free. Admission for senior citizens will be $4 on Jan. 23, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6.

Getting there: Parking is $6 per car. On Saturdays and Sundays, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority will run shuttle buses every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Ridgmar Mall, at Interstate 30 and Green Oaks Boulevard in West Fort Worth, and Billy Bob's Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The shuttle cost is $1 each way. Those taking the Trinity Railway Express train – which does not run Sundays – can get to the stock show by taking a Route 2 or Route 7 bus from the Intermodal Transportation Center.
